Here is volume 3, the final volume, of my quasi-screenplay Socially Awkward. I hope you enjoy the ending. Once again, I urge you to comment. I would benefit greatly from any feedback, positive or negative. If you would like the full version, just find the previous two versions. Once again, enjoy! IamMisplaced
They arrived at the top of the hill, looking over the town. “Okay, now you know about me, how about yourself?” Stuart thought about the question for a couple of minutes. “Well, I could designate myself as socially awkward. I’ve never had a girlfriend, except if you count in 3rd grade when I kissed Giulia.” “So that’s where you learned how to kiss!” They both shared a laugh. “Anyway, I spend most of my time up in my room playing video games, except for the few trips to school and the 7-11 to get some more Dew. This is the first real time I’ve ever been outside of the house after 8.” He regretted the words the second they escaped his mouth. He knew that she would reject anything he would try on her. Chloe broke the silence, “You know what, I’m glad that my breakup has made me get you out of the house and I’m glad that I’ve met you.” She scooted towards him and lay her head on his shoulder. They both looked up at the night sky. Everything was quiet. Chloe began to close her eyes, and Stuart followed suit.

Stuart is startled awake by a noise from the bushes. By doing so, he wakes up Chloe as well. Chloe says, “What time is it?” Stuart looks at his watch, “Oh shit, it’s 4 in the morning!” They both stammered to their feet and started running down the hill. SInce he was still trying to wake up, Stuart lost his footing and fell down, Chloe began to laugh. She fell down to and they both laughed and rolled down the hill.

Stuart walks up the walkway with Chloe to her house. They stand on the doorstep looking at each other. “Well, I guess I’ll see you later.” “Yeah, I guess.” She reaches over and they share one more kiss. At that point, a car drives up the street and stops in front of Chloe’s house. A man they both recognize as Chloe’s boyfriend gets out of the car. “Who is this curly-headed fuck on my girl’s doorstep. I fucking hope it’s just the trash.” Chloe says, pleading, “No, Randy, leave him alone. He’s my new boyfriend, remember we broke up?” “Shut the fuck up, bitch.” Stuart steps off the doorstep into Randy’s face. “Don’t you fucking talk to her like that, you ass-wipe.” Randy takes a second to take it all in. “What the fuck did you call me?” “I called you an ass-wipe.” Randy prepares, “You’re going to regret that.” Chloe screams, “RANDY, NO!” Randy punches Stuart in the face, sending Stuart staggering and falling down on the lawn. “Looks like the little dick-wad can’t take a punch.” Stuart gets to his feet, runs towards Randy, and punches him in the face. “This little dick-wad can also throw a punch.” Randy spits some blood onto the lawn, runs towards Stuart, and uppercuts him. Stuart hits the ground and doesn’t get up.
A black screen pops up with the time “5:00 AM”
Stuart wakes up, lying on Chloe’s front yard. He feels disoriented, but finds the stamina to stand up. He starts to walk for the front door of Chloe’s house when he feels his phone vibrating in his pocket. He pulls it out and sees that he got a text message from Chloe. The message reads, “I love you Stu, but I can’t be with you for your own safety. Randy will just keep on showing up and will beat you up again. I’m sorry, but we’ll always have tonight.” Stuart drops his phone in disbelief. He starts to run. He runs down the street, taking a left into town. He runs past Rutherfords, he runs past the park, and he runs past the hill where they fell asleep. He ran for 10 minutes straight, all the way to the bus station. He sits down on the bench as he catches his breath. You go back to the opening shot of the clock to the left of his shoulder. You zoom back out as a bus comes into the station. The bus stops and the driver opens the door. The driver asks, “Where ya headed?” Stuart contemplates the question, he remembers Middlebury and Princeton, but Chloe keeps popping up in his mind. “Anywhere but here.”
The credits roll.
